Rust is the result of the oxidation of water, iron and oxygen. When the engine is running, the temperature of the body rises, which further accelerates the oxidation and rust. When the cooling water is hard water (that is, the cooling water used is natural water, such as river water, well water, etc.), the water contains minerals. When the temperature rises, these minerals precipitate and form scale. If soft water (such as distilled water) is added, scale will not form.

In order to prevent the generation of rust and scale, the following measures can be taken:

(1) Add rust inhibitor;

(2) Add as much as possible Soft water, tap water can also be added;

(3) Keep the water level of the radiator to prevent air from entering the water jacket, so as to reduce the generation of rust;

(4) In order to protect the cooling system, It is best to use antifreeze, otherwise the water will freeze and break the water jacket in cold weather; .

Scale and rust will be produced, and a thermal insulation film will be formed between the inner wall of the water jacket and the water. Due to its poor thermal conductivity, the cooling effect will be greatly reduced, and the heat generated by the engine cannot be dissipated, which is not conducive to its Stable performance. After we understand the cause of scale and rust formation, we can start to prevent it, reduce the recurrence of such situations, and protect the engine.
