1. Blindly remove the engine thermostat

Instead, the engine often works in a low temperature state, resulting in a decrease in engine power, accelerated wear and an increase in fuel consumption. If the engine temperature is still high after the engine thermostat is repaired or replaced, other parts of the cooling system should be overhauled, and the thermostat cannot be removed.

2. The engine temperature is afraid of high but not low.

Some people think that the engine temperature is not afraid of high or low when driving. In fact, it is also very dangerous when the engine temperature is low. To ensure the service life of the engine, drive at the normal temperature specified in the car’s instruction manual.

3. The tighter the water pump fan belt, the better.

The tighter the belt, the better. If the belt is too tight, it will not only elongate or break, shorten the service life of the belt, but also cause deformation and bending of the generator shaft, water pump shaft and early bearing damage due to excessive tension. The tightness of the fan belt of the automobile engine should meet the technical requirements. Generally, the deflection of the normal belt assembly is 10-15mm.

4. The engine is heated at idle speed

When the engine is heated at idle speed, due to the low speed, the oil pump cannot press the lubricating oil into each lubricating oil quickly. On the surface, the oil pressure is also low, so that the moving parts of the engine work in the state of dry friction or semi-dry friction; the fuel is poorly atomized at low temperature, so that the unburned fuel (air mixture) escapes into the crankcase and washes off the cylinder wall. The oil film will also accelerate the wear of the parts. Therefore, after the engine is started for a few seconds, the application of fast idle speed heating (a fast idle speed device is specially equipped on modern cars, after the machine temperature rises, it will automatically adjust to the idle speed state) to improve the lubrication conditions of the engine.

5. Baking the oil base with a blowtorch

The best way is to choose the appropriate oil according to the minimum temperature in the local winter.

6. Tire pressure should be higher than lower

Some people like to inflate the tire pressure higher, thinking that it can not only overload but also save fuel. This is not correct. Excessive tire pressure will reduce the tire ground contact surface, increase the wear and tear, and also cause the tire to burst easily. If the tire pressure is too high, the adhesion coefficient of the tire will be reduced, the braking effect during braking will be reduced, and the amount of slippage (especially on rainy and snowy roads) will be increased, which will cause greater harm to driving safety. Too low tire pressure is not good, it will cause tire shoulders, tire breakage, and increased fuel consumption. The tire should be inflated according to the standard air pressure marked on the tire, and the inflation amount is generally ??5% of the standard air pressure.
