In the process of daily car use, most of the time we care about how to maintain the engine but ignore the knowledge of tires. As one of the most important parts of a car, tires are not only related to the handling performance of the vehicle, but also to the personal safety of the occupants in the car. Therefore, more knowledge of tires should be possessed by every car owner. How to do a good job in tire inspection and tire maintenance is one of the important foundations for safe driving.
1. First of all, check the air pressure of all tires on the car at least once a month when they are cooled. If you find that the air pressure is insufficient, you should find the cause of air leakage. (Please be sure to check the tire pressure after the tire has cooled down.)
2. Please check frequently for bulges, cracks, cuts, studs and abnormal tire wear. If you find these conditions, you must seek professional inspection immediately.
3. There is a wear indicator at the position where the remaining depth of the tread groove is 1.6 mm. The wear indicator must be replaced when the tire is worn out. It is dangerous to use tires that exceed the wear indicator, especially in wet conditions, because the drainage performance has been greatly reduced.
4. Regularly check the four-wheel alignment of the vehicle. If it is found that the alignment is not good, it should be corrected in time, otherwise it will cause irregular tire wear and affect the mileage life of the tire. It is recommended to adjust the position every 8,000 to 10,000 kilometers. .
5. Do not ignore the existence of the spare tire while doing daily tire inspection and maintenance. Be sure to check the inflation status of the spare tire regularly, maintain the standard air pressure, and avoid becoming a display at critical moments.
ps: When maintaining the wheels, such as dismounting and installing tires, you should use a good quality tire changer to avoid unnecessary damage to the wheels and tires.
